This turns every race into a frantic fight for survival. Use your Copy Ability to bump another player and you can send them sailing off the course, costing them some strawberries and, more preciously, time. These powers can also be wielded offensively. Tornado, for instance, creates a vortex that draws in nearby strawberries, while Jelly lets you slip past walls. As in Mario Kart, these are stored in item boxes strewn liberally around the stage, and they bestow Kirby with a different food-themed Copy Ability once collected.
Players can play Kirby's Dream Buffet together using either local wireless or online play, and two players total can also play on the same system.Adding another layer to races are the different power-ups you can acquire. At the end of four rounds of three different kinds of event stages - race, minigame, and battle royale - the biggest Kirby wins. Helpfully, there are various Copy Food abilities that can be used to give each individual player an edge. The video game allows up to four players to try to become the biggest Kirby possible by eating as many strawberries as possible through several kinds of events.
